Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodhah Yoga is the stilling of the mind.
- Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali
Be still and know
I am God.
- Psalm 46:10

Yoga is commonly seen as physical exercise; a way to get fit and release some stress. This popular notion of yoga is misinformed. Yoga is actually a science of Self-Realization, a means to connect deeply and profoundly to the Divine Presence within and all around us. This cannot be achieved without cultivating stillness. Even if we are to sit quietly in a room, the noise of our mind can still be prevalent. A noisy mind is a mind disconnected from it’s Source. When we reconnect to the Presence within, we bring our mind home to the heart and feel our connection to Life. We are set free from self imposed limitations. We begin to experientially understand the depth of mystical statements from various scriptures like, “Greater is that which is within me, than that which is in the world.” “I am not just in the world. The world is in me.” We use the practice of yoga as a way to come home to ourselves.

This is what the Yoga of Consciousness is about; Awakening to our Divinity, connecting to the Source within and being freed from our self-imposed limitations.
